Channel 8's babe count drops a notch with Jesseca Liu's imminent departure. But should anyone be surprised she's quitting?
Just as Fiona Xie headed to Hongkong for a new life, Jesseca Liu, too, bids us farewell to return to Malaysia to be a 'businesswoman'. The 31-year-old Langkawi lass has always been a relatively low-key star. She was never the sexy news magnet that Fiona was, and her profile has in recent times been eclipsed by Little Nyonyas Jeanette Aw and Joanne Peh. But since last year, Jesseca's flown so low the radar that one might actually have wondered if she'd quit. But maybe the statuesque beauty was merely preparing herself- and the audience- for her imminent departure. Poetic irony, then, that she's bowing out in an upcoming serial aptly titled "New Beginnings" (also starring Tay Ping Hui, Elvin Ng and Jeanette Aw).
