The Little Nyonya Scores!!!!

The future's looking bright for the Jeanette Aw and the cast of The Little Nyonya at this year's Star Awards. We check out the full list of nominations

Sixteen nominations.

Five out of six nominations in the Best Supporting Actress category.

Two reps in each of the major acting categories.

And the biggie for Best Drama.

To add another feather to its much-decorated cap, The Little Nyonya chalks up an impressive number of nominations at this year's Star Awards.

The Little Nyonya is nominated for Best Drama Serial, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Theme Song and Young Talent Award.

In the Best Supporting Actress category, five of the women from The Little Nyonya take up the six spots available. There was space for the evil, the good and the old. Lin Mei Jiao, as Gui Hua, the unforgiving wife and ruthless stepmother with the killer stares; Eelyn Kok, as Zhenzhu the selfish and devious sister made the list. So did the good gals - Xiang Yun as the ill-fated Tian Lan and Ng Hui as the fiercely loyal maid, Ah Tao. Li Yin Zhu rounds up the quintet as the rempah-udang-loving-matriarch, Chen Lao Tai. Cai Pei Xuan who played the feisty Rou Gu Mei in The Golden Path, rounds up the list.

In the acting categories, leads Jeanette Aw, Joanne Peh, Qi Yu Wu and (surprise, surprise!) Pierre Png make up the list, which includes stalwarts like Chen Li Ping, Fann Wong, Felicia Chin, Chen Han Wei, Huang Wen Yong, Tay Ping Hui and Adrian Pang.

New-hearthrob-on-the-scene Dai Yang Tian, scores in two categories. A nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category, for his role as the romantic, and self-sacrificing hero Yamamoto Yousuke and also in the Best Newcomer category. He joins other double-nominees like Chen Li Ping who garnered nominations in the Best Actress category for her roles in Just in Singapore and The Golden Path. Host Belinda Lee scores for her work in Find Me A Singaporean II and Come Dance With Me.

The other supporting men in The Little Nyonya were not left out. Zzen, in his breakout role as the menacing Robert Zhang and Darren Lim as the philandering Huang Jin Cheng. Yao Wen Long, who worked out for his scenes as the often-bare bodied Liu Yi Dao, probably felt his sacrifice was all worth it.

Will the cast of this year's Top Rated Drama Serial celebrate over kueh dadar, ayam buah keluak, and rempah udang come April 26, when the Star Awards airs on Channel 8? Time will tell. Stay tuned!
