This is the lead role most wanted by every 7 Princesses(新传媒7 公主) in MediaCorp (even the Queen Zoe Tay made known in a magazine interview that she wanted a part in the drama)…
This is the lead role aka like Singapore’s 大长今 that will propel any female artiste to even greater ‘stardom’ …
This is MediaCorp’s most expensive large scale drama production (bigger than 黄金路 The Golden Path) and equivalent to yesteryears' blockbusters like ‘The Unbeatables' (starring Zoe & Li Nanxing) and 'Golden Pillow' (starring Zoe, Fann & Alex Ma).
After many months of ‘fighting’ and ‘lobbying’ by all supporters, the decision just kept changing till this last minute....FINALLY, the most coveted role of 'Little Nonya' goes to...
Congratulations to Jeanette and hey…Star Awards Best Actress may just be hers soon…
With 小娘惹 Little Nonya, Jeanette will most certainly rise up to the No.1 position in the ranking of 7 Princesses. She may even outrun every other ‘7 Princesses’ to become the new Ah Jie 新阿姐! Aiyah..just say it loud lah: "Jeanette is the new Ah Jie to take over from Zoe and Fann."
Welcome to the new era of Jeanette, the new Queen of MediaCorp or at least 新传媒7 公主之首!!!
(*P.S. Joanne Peh[白微秀] also has an important part in 'Little Nonya' but NOT the title role K...)
(P.S. Qi Yuwu 715 is the male lead - marking his important one-off return to TV after his Asian movie stint...)

Somehow I think Rui En is the most 'bo chup' of the seven... given her comments on being offered the role of 'Little Nonya'.
I am glad that Little Nonya is brave enough to offer roles to the younger team of Mediacorp. They were fantastic and put up a convincing performance. The veterans performance was equally commendable. We dont need the Ah Jie(s) and Ah Ge(s) to be cast in every show to make it believable and to draw warm praise from the audience.
