Description: Cai Yanfang is a self-centred and energetic 24-year-old girl who often offends people because of her straightforward nature. Yanfang is afraid of nothing except dolls, to the extent that she flees upon seeing dolls.
Yanfang’s dream is to become a brilliant volleyball player and represent Singapore in the Olympic Games. She is the star player in her team and is often the centre of attention on the court. She loves to show off her own skills on the court and also openly criticises her teammates, which creates a lot of unhappiness and jealousy amongst them. The only friend she gets along with in the team is Rainie, her good friend of many years.
Yanfang finally falls out with the rest of the team. She drags Rainie along with her and leaves the team. After some consideration, she decides to switch to playing beach volleyball and forms a team with Rainie. The two girls become a formidable team on the beach. However, people are always focusing their attention on Yanfang. This starts to create an emotional imbalance in Rainie. With the appearance of a man named Ma Tianwu, their friendship finally falls apart.
Ma Tianwu, the 29 year-old owner of a beach bar comes from a wealthy family. Tianwu is a charming hunk blessed with good looks and a well-toned body. His humourous and easy-going nature wins him female admirers everywhere he goes. However, he has a deep dark secret from his childhood which causes him to develop a desire for vengeance against women. Whenever he embarks on a passionate relationship with a girl, he would break up with her for no good reason just to see the other party suffer hurt and rejection.
Yanfang and Rainie get to know Tianwu by chance. Rainie develops feelings for Tianwu first but he ends up dating Yanfang instead. Rainie doesn’t take it lying down and takes every opportunity to seduce Tianwu. The flirtatious Tianwu hooks up with Rainie very quickly. However, Yanfang finds out about this and breaks up with Tianwu which infuriates him. He begins to hatch a plan for revenge. Rainie hates Yanfang as well because Tianwu does not choose to be with her in the end. Rainie’s friendship with Yanfang then falls apart. She finds another female partner and vows to defeat Yanfang at beach volleyball. After splitting up with Rainie, Yanfang is unable to find a suitable partner until she meets Wang Sixing, a classmate of her younger brother Guorong on whom he has a crush. Yanfang discovers that Sixing has amazing jumping abilities!
Sixing is a 20 year-old mathematics undergraduate in her second year at university. She is conservative, sensitive, and easily hurt. She looks like a nerd and does not appear to have a single sporty cell in her. She often injures herself by knocking into things and sports multiple bruises. However, she is an optimistic girl. Every time she gets hurt, she will draw a smiley face on each bruise to cheer herself up.
Sixing’s mother is Wang Yiyan, an intelligent and beautiful 36 year-old air-stewardess. She was very young when she became intimate with her boyfriend. Sixing was conceived through that relationship. As Yiyan was very young then, the task of caring for Sixing fell on her grandfather, Wang Weixiong.
Weixiong is a badminton coach who has strict expectations of the people around him. Yiyan used to be a talented badminton player on whom Weixiong had pinned high hopes. However, Yiyan became a single mother which was a big blow to Weixiong. Hence, he is even stricter with Sixing’s upbringing.
Yanfang pesters Sixing to persuade her to be her team partner. Sixing slowly begins to develop an interest in beach volleyball. She finally agrees to be Yanfang’s partner. The conservative Weixiong objects to it violently. After Yiyan’s persuasion, he finally agrees to let Sixing become Yanfang’s partner.
Even though they become partners, Yanfang’s self-centred and critical nature eventually shows up. This creates friction and fierce competition between the two girls. After Yan Feipeng’s advice, Yanfang realises she has been selfish and changes her ways to resolve her differences with Sixing. They become better partners in the game.
Yan Feipeng is 26 years old and was born in China. When he was 13 years old, he was talent-scouted by the local badminton association and selected as a foreign talent. Feipeng is also a student of Weixiong’s and would often have dinner at his place. Hence, he is as close to Sixing as a brother.
Yanfang has always been against the idea of employing foreign talents in the sports industry and is thus bias against Feipeng. On top of that, Feipeng keeps dolls thereby creating even more conflict between Yanfang and Feipeng. After much interaction with each other, they begin to understand and develop feelings for each other.
Rainie tried to create problems between them and made Yanfang mistaken Feipeng and her are a couple. Thus, Yanfang decides to back off the love triangle relationship. Rainie was touched by her actions and felt bad. Finally, she told Yanfang the truth. She lied to her as she wanted to revenge due to Tianwu. In the end, Yanfang and Feipeng reconcile and got together as a couple.
Sixing gets to know Tianwu thru Yiyan’s boyfriend and is attracted to him. Tianwu decides to use Sixing as a means of revenge against Yanfang and thus begins to woo Sixing actively. To be together with Tianwu, Sixing falls out with her family and friends. Tianwu is touched by her sincerity. To get her out of her difficult position, Tianwu puts up an act of passion with Rainie so that Sixing would give up on him.
After breaking up with Tianwu, Sixing falls into despair and thought of attempting suicide. Tianwu mistaken that Sixing attempted suicide and he was devastated. Everyone pities Tianwu and realizes that he is serious this time. Later, he found out that she did not commit suicide. Finally, everyone gave them their blessings as a couple.
Sixing and Yanfang become beach volleyball partners again and get ready to take on the national championships. They got into the championship finals. Unexpectedly, her rival in competition is Rainie. One day before the finals, Yanfang tried to rescue Rainie and got hurt. Rainie was not informed that Yanfang was hurt. On the day of the competition, Yanfang competes despite the pain of her injury. They put up a close fight with Rainie’s team. At a crucial point in the game, Yanfang’s knocks against her injured arm and her injury worsens. As a result, she was unable to move her arm at all at that critical moment.
How serious is Yanfang’s injury? Will she be able to continue competing? Will Yanfang and Sixing win the championship and attain their dream of playing in the Olympics? Will Yanfang and Rainie’s friendship reconcile?
