A highly valuable treasure map sparks off a sticky web of unexplainable deaths, stolen identities, betrayals and insidious plots. The mystery thickens....
Su Zhen Yuan (Zhu Houren) is the CEO of a technological corporation who has been in the business for years. Today, he finally receives from the hands of his lawyer what his father, Su Jing Cai, had bequeathed in his will 20 years ago – a highly valuable treasure map… however, Zhen Yuan never dreamt that this mysterious map will spark off a series of cutthroat competition and betrayal.
Chen Shu Xian (Joanne Peh) has just been employed by Zhen Yuan’s company. Her sister, Chen Shu Fen (Rebecca Lim) is here in Singapore for a hairdressing competition. Their mother, Cai Xi Mei, who lives in Malaysia, travels all the way to Singapore to watch her performance. However, not long after she reached Singapore, she dies mysteriously.
Both sisters are devastated upon news of her death. This case was given to CID officer Lu Zhi Wei (Tay Ping Hui) to handle. While taking the testimonies of both sisters, Zhen Yuan arrives at the police station out of the sudden to provide information. He had met Xi Mei before she died and had passed a sum of $100,000 to her on behalf of his good friend Chen Chun Sheng. It turns out that Chun Sheng is actually the long-lost father of the sisters.
Putting her grief aside, Shu Xian reports for work at her new company only to find out that Zhen Yuan is her boss. What is even more surprising is that Alex (Shaun Chen) , the man whom Shu Fen is quite close with, is actually the company’s Human Resource manager and Zhen Yuan’s only child.
Because of Xi Mei’s case, Shu Xian and Zhi Wei keep in touch regularly. Shu Xian cannot help but develop feelings for this cool and aloof CID officer. However, as Zhi Wei still cannot forget his ex-girlfriend, he could only try to evade Shu Xian. During this time, he finds an important lead –a photo of Xi Mei and Chun Sheng at Shu Xian’s old residence. When Shu Xian takes a look at the picture, she is shocked to find that the ‘father’ in the photo look uncannily like her boss Zhen Yuan.
Zhen Yuan eventually confesses to Shu Xian that he is in fact her birth father. Shocked at the revelation, Shu Xian does not dare to tell the news to Shu Fen but could only persuade her sister to leave Alex.
Zhi Wei’s father, Lu Rong Guang (Liu Qianyi) deliberately gets close to Shu Xian after learning about this secret and proposes a plan to her to execute retribution. Shu Xian appears to have forgiven her father and continues to work in the company while conspiring with Rong Guang, the company director, in the dark to usurp the company assets.
Rong Guang has actually been eyeing Zhen Yuan’s treasure map for the past twenty-over years. He was even willing to sacrifice his lover, Susan (Zhu Yu Ye), to Zhen Yuan, who later marries Susan, in hope of laying his hands on the treasure map. Zhen Yuan eventually finds Susan’s actions suspicious and hires a private investigator to check on her, only to find out the adulterous relationship between her and Rong Guang.
Hurt and furious, Zhen Yuan files for divorce. Susan believes she can thus return to her lover Rong Guang; nevertheless, she soon realizes that Rong Guang had only treated her as a ‘tool’ in his pursuit of the treasure map and has no real feelings for her. Devastated, Susan consumes poison but survives only to die mysteriously later. Zhi Wei cannot help but suspect his own father. Rong Guang strongly denies his involvement and reveals a groundbreaking secret – Susan is actually Zhi Wei’s biological mother and thus, Alex is Zhi Wei’s brother.
When Alex discovers his mother’s relationship with Rong Guang, he finds the latter to settle the score. In order to make use of Alex to gain the treasure map, Rong Guang deliberately tells Alex that he has doubts on Zhen Yuan’s true identity. In terms of place and time, Zhen Yuan could not have possibly been in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. If this hypothesis is correct, Alex would be the legal successor to the will! Spurred by greed, Alex ends up a pawn in Rong Guang’s plan. He works with Rong Guang to drug both Shu Fen and Zhen Yuan, taking suggestive photos of them in bed and telling them that they are in fact father and daughter. Unable to take the shame of the incestuous relationship, Shu Fen jumps to her death…
Zhen Yuan finally tells Shu Xian that his actual identity is Chun Sheng and Zhen Yuan is his twin brother. How exactly had he managed to ‘steal’ Zhen Yuan’s identity? The treasure map eventually lands in Alex’s possession – will Rong Guang sacrifice even his own son in order to lay his hands on the map? Why did Xi Mei and Susan die mysteriously?
