Lin Fei is marrying Kaijie but deep down inside she misses Jinlong. Kaida’s mental illness continues to deteriorate; he dashes out to the road and is knocked down. In a moment of confusion, Kaida thinks he sees Jinfeng and apologizes to her, saying he promised Kaijie not to reveal the truth. Jinlong is convinced Kaijie has something to do with Jinfeng’s death after hearing this.
Jinlong uses Kaijie’s acceptance of Hai Ge’s bribe to blackmail him. On the surface, Kaijie appears to be subdued by Jinlong but in fact he is plotting a comeback. Kaijie tells his superiors he has accepted the bribe in a bid to infiltrate the gang so as to be able to find more incriminating evidence against them. On the other hand, he looks for Uncle Biao to work with him in getting rid of Jinlong.
Rou Gu Mei accidentally kills Da Tou Qing when the latter holds her hostage. Kaijie leaves his briefcase in Lin Fei’s car. She answers his phone call from the condominium security guard and is curious to why Kaijie did not tell her he has a unit. Lin Fei discovers something when she visits the condo.
Lin Fei finds evidence linking Kaijie to Jinfeng’s death. Jinlong receives a call from Uncle Biao informing him that a shipment of contraband cigarettes has reached shore. He falls into Kaijie’s trap when he goes to pick up the goods. Jinlong threatens to reveal evidence of Kaijie accepting Hai Ge’s bribe if Kaijie doesn’t release Rou Gu Mei. Jinlong ends up killing Uncle Biao in the showdown.
Jinlong forces Kaijie and Lin Fei up the yacht and wants Kaijie to release Rou Gu Mei. Kaijie shoots Jinlong and he falls into the sea. Though he survives, Jinlong is blinded in one eye. Meanwhile, there is no news of Rou Gu Mei and Jinlong is forced to go back to Singapore to look for her. Lin Fei has a relapse and knowing her days are numbered, she decides to donate her inheritance to charity. Lin Fei’s real intention of doing this is to test Kaijie.
Rou Gu Mei’s body is found in the wilderness and it is Kaijie who killed her. Jinlong is bent on taking revenge and uses Kaida to lure Kaijie out, not knowing Kaiqi has come along too. When the four of them meet, it stirs up past memories. Kaiqi and Kaida beg Jinlong to let Kaijie off. Jinlong relents and does not open fire. Kaijie is wanted by the police for murdering Rou Gu Mei. To avoid being arrested, Kaijie goes into hiding overseas and is never heard of again.
