Story Synopsis:
It is a quiet and lonely night at the beach. The gentle splashing of seawater creates a sense of serenity. From afar, the sound of a motor being started can be heard. On board a speed boat, the back of a man is seen trying to start the engine, but it splutters and refuses to start. The man turns around to face a huge black plastic bag. The bag seems to contain a motionless body. Thereafter, the man gets off the speed boat and walks on the beach. He is getting some tools to fix the engine. A while later, the black bag moves. Suddenly, it is slashed from inside to reveal the sharp edge of a shard. The bag is slashed open and a girl emerges from it, gasping for breath and looking terrified…. The girl undergoes a medical examination that confirms she has suffered sexual and physical abuse. Investigating Officer Zhou Jianfeng comes on the scene and meets Qiu Xueqing, a psychologist. Using hypnosis, Xueqing leads the girl to relive her experience that elicits an important clue. The perpetrator is suspected to be Di Shen, a suspense writer.
Jianfeng uncovers clues that implicate Di Shen in the case. Di Shen also realises that the suspect has enacted the plot of his novel which raises the possibility that he is a fan of his work. To prove his innocence and satisfy his own curiosity, Di Shen gets involved in the case to identify the suspect.
The girl is silenced by the suspect. Xueqing is the only person who have seen him. Xueqing reproaches herself for not doing enough to protect the victim. While working together with Di Shen in the case, she is kidnapped and imprisoned. At the brink of death, an idea came to Di Shen who eventually saved the dying Xueqing.
Xueqing becomes paranoid after recovering from her ordeal. Her insistence on making sure that all doors are locked before and after leaving the house is a clear sign that she has developed obsessive- compulsive disorder. Di Shen does all he can to help Xueqing face her inner fear and overcome it. Xueqing, on the other hand, feels secure in Di Shen’s presence. Their relationship warms up. With help from Di Shen and Jianfeng, Xueqing finally overcomes her fear to appear in public.
The suspect’s identity is exposed, but he disappears with the police in hot pursuit. Shortly after, Jianfeng, upon receiving a tip-off, found the suspect walking on the road in a disoriented state. The suspect admits that he had imprisoned and killed six women. But when questioned about why he ended up on the street, the suspect claims that he was held captive by a mysterious man who subjected him to the same torture that he had inflicted on his female victims, and forced him to confess to the murders. Jianfeng suspects that someone is secretly sentencing the suspect. Who can it be?
A series of crimes occurred in the fashion of Di Shen’s plots in his novels, as if real-life events are being portrayed on screen. This mysterious man is using unlawful means to mete out justice on suspects who have escaped punishment and forcing them to confess to their crimes. It is obvious that he is sending out a warning message to lawbreakers. All this reminds Di Shen of what happened seven years ago…
Seven years ago, Di Shen was a University employee who befriended a group of students when he was studying psychology in private. Their failure to find a goal in life caused them to feel lost. Everyone wanted to find a niche for himself to prove his worth.
This group of friends happened to do a good deed one day and became heroes. The immense joy they felt dawned on them that their mission in life was to uphold justice!
Di Shen and his companions carried out secret missions to uphold justice and even resorted to unlawful means to achieve their goals. They considered themselves dark crusaders of justice, and imagined themselves to be Robin Hood and his merry men. Then a university professor murdered a female student but got away scot-free. While trying to force a confession out of the professor, Di Shen and his teammates accidentally caused his death.
Everyone felt that the female victim’s death was avenged when the professor died, however, Di Shen began to wonder if his sense of justice and taking the law into his own hands was morally right. Then the death of a team member reinforced his belief that what they were doing was wrong. He disbanded the group, left the university and subsequently lost touch with his teammates.
After reflecting on his behaviour, Di Shen gives up his extremist views. Instead, he hopes to reform criminals through psychological methods. He becomes gentle in nature. But now, a self-professed upholder of justice calling himself “Shadow Walker” has surfaced to punish criminals on the quiet. Di Shen becomes the prime suspect. Also, the fact that he believes humans are evil by nature and therefore, they need to be re-educated to curb their criminal tendencies points to Di Shen as the “Shadow Walker”.
Relying on her special ability to feel like the criminal, Xueqing begins to take an interest in the efforts to track down “Shadow Walker”. Di Shen also joins in to prove his innocence. But as the investigations deepen, more and more suspects surface. The suspense escalates.
They begin to realise that every suspect harbours a secret. Perhaps deep down, everyone wants to be the Dark Knight to uphold justice. “Shadow Walker” may be more than one person.
Ever since she was a child, Xueqing has the innate ability to feel someone’s mood, so she makes use of hypnosis to enter her patients’ subconsciousness. She can also penetrate the criminal’s psyche at the crime scene to reconstruct his criminal trail. Her special ability helps to reduce the time it takes for Di Shen and Jianfeng to deduce the developments of the case and discover new clues.
As the investigations progress, feelings developed between Xueqing and Di Shen and they become a couple. Jianfeng, who hides his love for Xueqing, is heartbroken. But what irks him is that Xueqing continues to trust Di Shen despite all the evidence pointing to his guilt. Jianfeng does not want Xueqing to be deceived, so he is determined to unearth evidence of Di Shen’s guilt and to show his true colours to Xueqing.
Xueqing gradually notices Di Shen’s abnormal behaviour. She has a nagging feeling that he is linked to “Shadow Walker”. Probed by Xueqing, he finally discloses his secret… Their relationship goes into a crisis. Xueqing’s distress resulting from suffering several blows makes her unable to differentiate between good and bad anymore. Every time Xueqing slips into the murderer’s psyche at the crime scene, she is consumed by the character and ends up disoriented….
Di Shen harbours the bitterness that his mother was brutally murdered. As he moves closer to the truth, he discovers that it is not what he has imagined. His long-held belief crumbles, and he is crushed.
Will Di Shen walk out of his gloom eventually and get back to his feet? Will Xueqing get carried away and turn villainous against Di Shen? Will Jianfeng suppress his obsession to nail Di Shen? What will their love and conflicts lead to?
The three of them are inevitably drawn into the cases. As they close in on the truth, it appears that they are also moving closer to their inner secrets.

Story Synopsis:

Story Synopsis:
In the 1940s, “Xiji” was a famous traditional Teochew traditional pastry shop in Singapore. Their mooncakes are particularly renowned. Lian Xuegeng, the boss of “Xiji”, has an only son Lian Wending who is very talented in baking pastry. Wending shares a bond with Lin Xiaomei, a travelling songstress. When his father finds out about it, he tries all means to stop them from seeing each other and even arranges for Wending to marry a rich merchant’s daughter, Sun Xiulan. Strangled by his father’s authority and bound by tradition, Wending accepts the arrangement helplessly. Xiulan is, in fact, a good wife and daughter-in-law, leading Wending to acknowledge that his father’s choice is right.
On Mid-Autumn Night, Wending loses consciousness after falling into a well. Upon waking up, Wending is shocked to find that he has travelled through time to arrive in modern Singapore. By a twist of fate, Wending happens to meet Lian Daxi who has difficulty hiring workers. Daxi, delighted to know that Wending can bake traditional pastry despite his youth, hires him immediately. Through Daxi, Wending befriends his younger brother Shuangxi, and discovers that both of them are his descendants who are running “Xiji” handed down by his family. The two Lian brothers are very different in character. They are rather unfortunate in matters concerning their family, career and love.
Daxi is a sentimental and emotionally fragile man but has a strong sense of responsibility. He goes all out to preserve the family business, but there is a limit to what he can do. Daxi has been hurt by love numerous times so much so that he is afraid of entering into any more relationships. As such, although he has eyes for Ouyang Xuan, the shop assistant next door, he has no courage to confess his love for her.
Shuangxi seems like a man of the house but in truth, he is a typical hen-pecked husband who is submissive to his wife Du Shini. Shuangxi likes to put on a brave front. In business, he often sets goals that cannot be met and thus, brings trouble to “Xiji”.
In Wending’s opinion, the problem with these two brothers is that they do not behave like real men and are a disgrace to him, their ancestor. Wending, therefore, decides to help them buck up and become real men.
Meanwhile, tradition is no longer valued, leading to a decline in business at “Xiji”. It faces a grim prospect of closing down. Wending does his best to save it, but apart from having to face changing times, he also encounters a stronger rival – She Meiren, a super career woman who looks exactly like Xiaomei but is worlds apart from her in character. Meiren intends to acquire “Xiji” so as to open a Western cakeshop and therefore, pits herself against Wending. Unexpectedly, in the bitter battle between these two “Westernised” and “traditional” rivals, both of them actually develop a liking for the other party. Nevertheless, the stubborn duo refused to admit it.
After a series of events, Wending starts to gain insights and finally decides to discard his former conservative mentality. Moreover, he takes inspiration from Western cakes and pastry and with his traditional pastry baking skills, creates new products. This boosts the business of “Xiji”. At the same time, he lets go of his chauvinistic baggage to develop a relationship with Meiren. But just as he is enjoying the success of his career and love, Wending discovers a way of returning to his time. Will Wending choose to remain in the present time to be with his beloved woman, or will he return to the past and let history runs its course so that the Lian brothers can continue to live in the present world…

Story Synopsis:
Song Xin Ren inherits an antique shop from his father. Business is slack, so he often resorts to trickery such as placing some antiques where it is easy for customers to break them unwittingly upon entering the shop. Then, he makes them pay for the damage or buy the piece. The old-style apartment Xin Ren lives in is also a property he inherited from his father. He and his elder sister, Chu Yun, are co-owners. Its good location finds favour with a developer who sends his staff to collect signatures from occupants to seek an en bloc sale. Xin Ren is tempted. Unfortunately, his old neighbors, Wang Wei Guo and Hong Mei Dai are reluctant to move and thus, oppose the sale vehemently. Also, Wei Guo is an old employee of the antique shop who has known Xin Ren since he was a boy. Xin Ren has no choice but to reject the en bloc sale.
One day, a beautiful but aloof woman with a little boy visit the shop. The boy is a handful; despite Xin Ren’s warnings, he continues to misbehave. The woman is oblivious to his behaviour. So, Xin Ren deliberately breaks a vase but pins the blame on the boy, and demands compensation from the woman. She is aware that Xin Ren is seizing the opportunity to quote an astronomical price, but pays up without without any hesitation. Xin Ren laters finds out that the woman is unrelated to the child. He feels guilty and forms a deep impression of her. The woman is Pan Xiao Min, an unknown model. She plays hard to get in a bid to snare Xin Ren who falls hopelessly in love with her subsequently.
Meanwhile, Xin Ren chances upon a down-and-out young girl, Xiao Shan, on the street. Thinking that she is a homeless girl who has been reduced to being a thief, he takes her in. By offering accommodation and work to her, Xiao Shan is deeply touched and develops feelings for him.
Xiao Min has an intellectually disabled younger brother. To raise money for his medical fees, Xin Ren goes ahead to sign the en bloc agreement, in the face of opposition from his elder sister and the others. He gives $500,000 to Xiao Min. To his horror, Xiao Min disappears into thin air after she receives the money. Her old residence is vacant. It dawns on Xin Ren that Xiao Min is a bait thrown by the developer to trick him into signing the en bloc agreement. Devastated, Xin Ren starts to lose hope in life and drowns himself in work.
Xiao Shan feels sad for the despondent Xin Ren. She contributes money and time to help Xin Ren locate Xiao Min. Xin Ren is greatly touched. Subsequently, in a scheme by Hong Caishun the housekeeper, Xiao Shan lies to Xin Ren that she is suffering from a terminal illness and has only three months to live. Xin Ren is deceived and asks for her hand in marriage.
It is not until the eve of the wedding that Xin Ren discovers the truth about Xiao Shan’s identity. It turns out that she is the daughter of a rich man. Xiao Shan is in a predicament. If she confesses that her terminal illness is a fabrication, the wedding will be called off. Xiao Shan leaves quietly so that Xin Ren and Xiao Min can be together.
Wei Guo and Mei Dai have been married for years. They have two sons living apart from them, who are happily married with children and established in their careers. Mei Dai is always suspicious that Wei Guo is carrying on an extramarital affair, causing him much frustration. Wei Guo suspects that he is suffering from senile dementia when he becomes forgetful. Seeking a medical cure, and worrying about being a burden to Mei Dai, he initiates a divorce. Mei Dai thinks that Wei Guo is seeking a divorce because of a third party, and when she finds a hotel card in his pocket, is convinced that Wei Guo has a tryst with another woman in the hotel. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. She adds insecticide to the dishes she cooks with the intention of killing Wei Guo slowly with poison. But the whole thing backfires on her. It turns out that she is the one suffering from dementia, not Wei Guo.
On seeing that Mei Dai’s condition is worsening, Wei Guo uses his apartment as a bait to persuade Jia Shu and A-Chan, his eldest son and daughter-in-law respectively, to take care of Mei Dai. In the end, however, the two of them abandon Mei Dai out of frustration. Left in the lurch, Wei Guo hires a maid. Unknown to him, the maid is ever attentive to Mei Dai in front of Wei Guo, but ill-treats her when nobody else is around while carrying on an illicit relationship with a man. When Wei Guo finds out about it, he dismisses the maid to look after Mei Dai himself. Unfortunately, it is not as easy to look after Mei Dai as it seems. Exhausted and exasperated, he loses his cool, slaps Mei Dai and breaks down in tears. Finally, Wei Guo decides to admit Mei Dai into a nursing home….
Chu Yun knocks down a little boy unintentionally in a fatal accident. From that day onwards, she is haunted by it and shuts herself out. She is fearful of driving a car, and even crossing the road. Lu Zhi Guang, Chu Yun’s better half, appears to be a good husband but has, in fact, a second family. Chu Yun discovers the truth only after she receives a photograph posted to her by a mysterious person. She asks for a divorce and demands nothing except the custody of their son, Yu’an. With help from her brother, Xin Ren, Chu Yun walks out of her dark days to begin life anew. In addition to returning to work, she attends a culinary class enthusiastically. In the class, she meets a rich and dashing businessman, Fang Yao Liang. Initially, she keeps a distance from him, but Yao Liang’s efforts in motivating Chu Yun to live courageously, even succeeding in getting her back behind the wheel, make Chu Yun accept Yao Liang gradually. Just when Chu Yun thinks that she has found happiness, Yao Liang suddenly sells his house and leaves without a word, dealing a big blow to Chu Yun.
After doing some detective work, Xin Ren finds out that the boy whom Chu Yun ran over is actually Yao Liang’s son. Yao Liang befriends Chu Yun with the intention of seeking revenge and to pay Chu Yun back in her own coin. In the end, however, Yao Liang is guilt-stricken. He drops the idea of revenge and chooses to leave Chu Yun. This is because Yao Liang discovers that he is hopelessly in love with this woman…...

Story Synopsis:
Mei Renxin is a weirdo who is withdrawn. He does not get along well with people and is unapproachable.
Renxin’s anti-social behaviour is a result of an incident some years ago. His wife fainted on the road but nobody went to her aid. She died tragically and in bitterness after missing the window period to revive her.
Renxin was a celebrated soccer coach well known for his game strategies back then. However, the sudden death of his wife caused him much guilt. He could not forgive himself for neglecting and shortchanging her. Thereafter, he sank into oblivion and kept a distance from the sports arena.
The Mei family lives next door to the Mo family. The two families are separated by a thin wall.
The two neighbours were on cordial terms until Renxin became unapproachable. He had several brushes with Mo Lihua, the second sister in the Mo family, over some petty matters. It came to the point where their neighbourly ties were soured. The feuding resulted in the enmity between the Mei and Mo families.
In his youth, Hong Canghai was high-spirited and a name to be reckoned with in soccer.
His tricky “random kick” was a delight to watch. His forte was the penalty kick where he could send the ball to any point and even kick it straight into the goal. As his wife Zheng Yongyi cannot get along with his mother, Canghai has no choice but to move out. This leads to his younger brother, Dehai, resenting him for abandoning their mother over a woman. They became estranged. Canghai has always been someone who values friendship. He never turns down anyone’s request to borrow money from him. As a result of that, his wife is very unhappy with him. Seeing that he has achieved nothing, his career-minded wife decides to leave him. The couple have two sons aged 11 and 10. After the separation, Yongyi gains custody of the two children. Canghai and his children are miserable over their situation. Canghai refuses to give up. He will do anything to bring his broken family back together again.
Wu Weixiong, a professional soccer player, falls in love with Mo Yuqing at first sight. However, because Weixiong has an eye disease, he carries on an ambiguous relationship with Yuqing. Later, his role in an assault case discourages him from accepting Yuqing’s love as he has made up his mind to turn himself in. However, Yuqing is adamant that Weixiong is avoiding her for reasons he will not disclose. In the end, he is forced to hit Yuqing to drive her away.
Eversince Lihua met Weixiong, she is captivated by his manliness, and love for his children. She rents a room to Weixiong in the hope of capturing his heart. Unfortunately for her, Weixiong rejects her love as he still loves his wife.
After his release from jail, Weixiong’s eye disease worsens and he avoids people by living on his own. One day, Yuqing chances to meet Weixiong, who is a guide of “Dialogue in Darkness” Experiential Walk. She finds out the truth and decides to help Weixiong brace up and make a comeback. But Yuqing, who has accepted Gao Guotian’s love, is in a dilemma now.
Although Guotian is a gifted soccer player, he faces objections from Gao Shou over a soccer career. Gao Shou is his paternal uncle who has raised him.
Guotian and Weixiong are good friends. One day, both of them got into a drunken stupor. Guotian injured someone in his bid to save him. To protect himself, he bribes the witness to frame the miserable Weixiong. Weixiong, who is in the dark, chooses to turn himself in. Guotian pleads with him against doing so, yet is afraid to tell him the truth. He feels distressed.
Guotian is in love with Yuqing and stands by her. His constant encouragement and assistance finally moves Yuqing into accepting his love. However, Guotian is perfectly aware that their relationship rests on a time bomb that will go off anytime…
Gao Shou, too, was a professional soccer player when he was young. He gave up his dream for the sake of his career, and became a successful businessman. Ye Laixiang was a waitress but worked very hard to get close to Gao Shou to become his assistant. Although she knows that he is married, she continues to have feelings for him. It leads to a hopeless relationship with no end in sight, but gives a boost to her relationship with Renxing.
Mo Shijing, the eldest son of the Mo family, has incredible arm strength. Unfortunately, he is a bum addicted to gambling. He and Lan Yangyang, Renxin’s brother-in-law, are colleagues in a warehouse. In his youth, he fathered an illegitimate son (Huancong) without knowing it. He thought that the other party, Xiuhe, had the child with another man. It was only after Xiuhe revealed the truth on her deathbed that he came to his senses. Henceforth, he turned over a new leaf.
Yangyang is Renxin’s brother-in-law. He is languid by nature and does everything by foot instead of using his hands. This turns out to be a boon because it actually trains him to develop a set of skills using his feet. Yangyang, a former columnist, is a man of emotions. He falls for Yuqing but after being spurned by her, turns his attention to her elder sister, Lihua, creating some funny episodes in the process.
Wang Jiannan is the teammate of Canghai and Guotian. He requires a huge sum of money for medical treatment for his younger sister who is suffering from a serious illness.
This bunch of desperate people with a common passion for soccer decide to participate in a street soccer tournament that comes with a generous prize. But they are thrashed soundly in their first match. At the critical juncture, Renxin finally shows his prowess. Only then does everyone know that he is someone to be reckoned with. Thereafter, under Renxin’s coaching, the team surprisingly scores a victory and goes on to win match after match.
Meanwhile, Dehai, Huancong, Fang Yang and a few other young men form “Peaks Team” so that Renxin’s “Fire Team” cannot steal the limelight. This group of boys whose future seems uncertain are not exactly enthusiastic initially about participating in the tournament. Later, with encouragement from Yang Ming, who is afflicted with an incurable illness, they decide to take the tournament seriously in order to score a personal triumph as the boys feel that they have never won any prizes in their lives before.
And so the battle begins. The “Fire Team” of men past their prime and the “Peaks Team” of young men vie for the trophy. The two teams start out as rivals who are uncompromising but end up as friends who appreciate one other. The situation is certainly one of “The ball is in your court” and “Life is how you deal with it”. Faced with a common enemy subsequently, the Mei and Mo families discard their animosity to join hands in forming the “Brave Lions Team” to defeat the mighty Hong Kong team.
Renxin is the captain of the Singapore team. Whether this group of people will turn their lives around and make a comeback or not, one can only hear him shouting fervently on the sideline: “Don’t give up! The world is at your feet!”

Story Synopsis:
Two Thai robbers disguised as policemen entered a condominium apartment. Zhang Guixiang, a traffic policeman, happens to be patrolling in the area. He notices a suspicious car and bumps into the two robbers and their driver, Qingwa. Their ruse exposed, one of the robbers draws out a gun to shoot him. Fortunately, Guixiang’s quick reflexes save him from being shot. Tang Yaojia, who has just been transferred to Police Intelligence Division, rushes to the scene upon being notified of the case. He exchanges fire with the robbers in a fiery shootout. A stray bullet from one of the burglars’ guns hits a passing car and sends it careening. In the midst of chaos, the burglars seize the opportunity to flee. Qingwa, with Guixiang hot on his tail, slips and falls into a coma.
As the suspects possess firearms, the captain of Major Crimes Division, Huang Zhijie, is assigned to investigate the case. Zhijie discovers a male corpse in the apartment that was burglarized and deduces that it is a case of robbery cum murder. After a series of investigations, Zhijie succeeds in finding the robbers’ hideout. One robber is fatally shot by STAR when he showed resistance. While retreating into his hideout, the second robber engages Lantian in crossfire. He suffers the same fate as his accomplice as Lantian fires at him for self-defense. After much interrogation, Qingwa, who has regained his consciousness, admits to assisting the Thai robbers. However, he is unaware of the murder. As Zhijie fails to find anything suspicious about the robbery and a motive for murder, she does not delve deeper into the case. Nevertheless, is this case as simple as it appears to be? Or is there more to it than meets the eyes?
Wei Lantian, captain of Specialised Crime Division of Criminal Investigation Department, is investigating the case of Lin Chunjiao’s illegal moneylending activities involving foreign domestic workers. Sadly, one of the domestic workers is found dead in a rooftop water tank of a HDB block of flats, and one of the suspects turns out to be Guixiang’s father who abandoned his wife and son years ago. Zhang Zhiming, nicknamed “Spider Ming”, is also Chunjiao’s lover. However, Zhijie quickly dismisses Spider Ming’s link to the domestic worker’s death and focuses instead on a supervisor whom the deceased had been seeing.
Although Spider Ming is acquitted, Chunjiao is sentenced to jail for illegal money lending and has to sell her flat to pay the huge fine. The homeless Spider Ming has no choice but to take Chunjiao’s son, Zhang Guifa, along with him and move into Guixiang’s place. Even Weng Xuanmei, Chunjiao’s niece, also moves in with them. Suddenly, there are three additional people in the flat, giving the overwhelmed Guixiang a big headache.
Liao Xinyi returns to Singapore after completing her assignment with the peacekeeping force, and is transferred to Traffic Police to head the Investigation and Reports Branch. Yaojia has set his heart on resuming his relationship with Xinyi, and took great care of her family for the past year when she was away. Xinyi agrees to his request, and they continue their romance. However, during the peacekeeping mission overseas, Xinyi witnessed a traumatizing bombing incident which caused her to develop post-trauma stress order. This results in her frequent mood swing and sudden change in temperament. Although she is cold to Yaojia, he stands by her and encourages her to seek necessary treatment. A mysterious traffic incident involving Zhenting drives the biggest wedge between them right when their relationship begins to stabilize. Can this couple overcome their obstacles to let their love blossom eventually?
Han Junxi, cousin to Han Xiaoyang, an officer in Major Crimes Division, is suspected of drink-driving. Guixiang stops his car to question him. Although Junxi passes the breath analyser test, Guixiang still advises him to get someone to drive his car. Junxi agrees perfunctorily but in fact, continues to drive on his own. As a result, he runs over Chen Yanjun’s parents, leaving one dead and the other in a coma.
Xinyi is put in charge of investigating the accident. Although Junxi manages to get someone to take the rap, she combs through the evidence to prove that the driver culpable is Junxi. In the meantime, Zhijie finds out that Yanjun is still alive and has returned to Singapore. She suspects that Yanjun will harm Junxi to avenge his parents. Xinyi and Zhijie rush to find Junxi and true enough, they see Yanjun driving a car in an attempt to run over Junxi. Can Xinyi and Zhijie stop Yanjun in time and let the law deal with Junxi and Yanjun?
Xiaoyang and Guixiang are a couple whose different backgrounds and mindsets cause them to be incessantly at loggerheads with each other. Junxi’s drink driving case exacerbates their strained relationship, leading to their break up. Xuanmei, Guixiang’s childhood friend, consoles him and in no time, they develop feelings for each other. At the same time, Zhongzheng, the boss of an investment company decides to woo Xuanmei. Who will Xuanmei choose? Will Xiaoyang and Guixiang eventually get back together?
While investigating a vice syndicate, Lantian carries out a raid and apprehends an underage prostitute’s client who turns out to be his buddy, Yang Zhongzheng. Zhongzheng met Lantian when they were both posted to Singapore Police Force to serve National Service. They bonded and became fast friends during their training days, and subsequently joined the force. Zhongzheng had to leave the force after sustaining injuries during an operation. He has since migrated to Australia. Lantian was unaware that of his return. During his younger days, Zhongzheng had a daughter with a Thai girl. He had lost touch with them since. His recent trip back to Singapore is to save his daughter, after learning that she works in Singapore as a call girl. Unfortunately, his daughter is unforgiving and even accuses him of having sex with an underage prostitute. Fortunately, Lantian’s thorough investigations clear his name. He also helps to mend ties between the pair.
Lantian is delighted to be reunited with his buddy, unaware that he is, in fact, part of an international crime syndicate. When Zhongzheng realizes that Lantian’s probe into a commercial fraud case may expose his crimes, he bribes Lantian’s subordinate in a bid to gain intelligence to prevent his underlings from getting caught. Through internal checks, Lantian is suspected of tipping off Zhongzheng and thus suspended from duty. To obtain evidence of Zhongzheng’s criminal record, Lantian carries out his own investigations in the dark. When Zhongzheng sees through his ruse, Zhongzheng’s left hand man, Dehai, tries to kill him. Zhongzheng stops Dehai in Lantian’s defense. Unwilling to turn against Lantian, Zhongzheng decides to quit his syndicate, but is futile as his boss threatens him with his daughter’s life. At this time, Zhijie has also verified that Zhongzheng is not only the mastermind of the Thai burglars’ robbery-murder but is also implicated in another murder case. Zhongzheng, with his identity exposed and nowhere to hide, has a showdown with his buddy Lantian in a bid to save his daughter, Hongxi…
